TENNESSEE HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE PROMOTES “NO MORE ON 64’ CAMPAIGN
Agencies Statewide Increase Traffic Enforcement on U.S. Highway 64 during Independence Day Weekend
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – On Tuesday, July 2, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) will join the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Memphis Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and other traffic safety partners to kick off the “No More On 64” traffic safety enforcement campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to use 64 hours of enforcement statewide to raise awareness and help reduce traffic fatalities during Independence Day weekend. From 8 a.m. on July 5 to midnight on July 7, participating agencies will increase traffic enforcement along the 404 miles of U.S. Highway 64 from Memphis to the North Carolina border. During the press event, speakers will discuss recent crash data, enforcement tactics, and safe driving tips for those traveling during the holiday period.
