TENNESSEE HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE JOINS GEORGIA FOR “SEATS ACROSS THE STATES’’
Parents, Caregivers Encouraged to Attend Local Car Seat Check Event
CHATTANOOGA – On Friday, May 24, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office will join the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, and the Georgia Department of Public Health for “Seats Across the States,” a car seat check event to kick off the summer travel season. Parents, guardians, and caregivers are encouraged to participate to receive child passenger safety tips, educational resources, and access to certified technicians. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for children in America. In Tennessee, over 65 percent of car seats are improperly used or incorrectly installed by adults.
