Tennessee Highway Safety Office joins Hamblen County for "Safe Driving" Press Event

HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. — On Tuesday, July 23, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office will join Tennessee Highway Patrol, Hamblen County Mayor’s Office, Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office, Morristown Mayor’s Office, and Morristown Police Department for a “Safe Driving” press event to address the recent spike in traffic fatalities and help raise awareness. According to Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network (TITAN), Hamblen County experienced 10 traffic fatalities this year to date. This time last year, there was only one. Of the 10 fatalities this year, three involved motorcyclists and six involved drivers aged 65 or older. During the press event, speakers will discuss recent crash data, enforcement tactics, and safe driving tips to help reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities in the Hamblen County area.
