Tennessee Highway Safety Office Kicks off 100 Days of Summer Heat with “Click It or Ticket” Campaign
Law Enforcement Partners from North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky to Participate
FALL BRANCH – On Thursday, May 25, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) will kick off 100 Days of Summer Heat with a “Click It or Ticket” press event supported by Holston Valley Medical Center, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), and law enforcement partners from North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky. More than 30 local law enforcement agencies will be represented, as well. This summer, Fall Branch will experience an increase in seat belt enforcement and crack down on impaired drivers across the 13 counties.
According to Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network (TITAN), 49 vehicle occupants killed in Fall Branch traffic crashes last year were not restrained. In an effort to reduce the number of crashes, injuries, and fatalities, law enforcement will conduct saturation patrols, high visibility enforcement, nighttime seat belt enforcement, sobriety checkpoints, community outreach, and occupant protection education.
