Tennessee Highway Safety Office Director Vic Donoho Joins Governors Highway Safety Association’s Executive Board
TENNESSEE – Today, October 19, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) announces the election of THSO Director Vic Donoho to the Governors Highway Safety Association’s (GHSA) executive board.
“We are delighted to have Vic Donoho join our executive board as the representative for Region 4,” said GHSA Executive Director Jonathan Adkins. “GHSA appreciates Tennessee’s leadership and innovation in traffic safety, and we look forward to working with Vic to advance safety in the region and throughout the country.”Director Donoho will serve as the Region 4 Representative, whose primary role is to canvass the states within this region for prominent highway safety issues, share those issues and/or news during board meetings, and report back to the states. Region 4 is comprised of the following: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee.“
Having Vic serve on the GHSA executive board is a huge honor for him and our department,” said Commissioner David W. Purkey of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. “I am proud of him taking on this additional title and the responsibilities this position carries. His hard work, leadership and passion for traffic safety do not go unnoticed. I have no doubt that he will be a great addition to the GHSA executive board.”
The GHSA's executive board consists of officers and representatives from the ten National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regions, committee and task force chairs. Officers are elected by the full State Highway Safety Office (SHSO) membership during GHSA's Annual Meeting. Regional representatives are selected during regional caucuses. The GHSA Chair appoints the chairs of GHSA's various committees and task forces, who serve as at-large board members. All board members serve a one-year term.

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) is a division of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security advocating for traffic safety. The THSO works in tandem with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to implement statewide programs addressing occupant protection, impaired driving, speed enforcement, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and crash data collection and analysis.
