TENNESSEE JOINS GEORGIA FOR “OPERATION SOUTHERN SLOW DOWN” ON JULY 17
State, Local Agencies Increase Speed Enforcement Across the Southeast
CHATTANOOGA – On Monday, July 17, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) will join the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Georgia State Patrol, and other partners to promote “Operation Southern Slow Down.” The purpose of this multi-jurisdictional campaign is to increase enforcement from July 17 to July 23 to reduce speeding across the Southeast. Speakers will offer traffic safety tips and announce upcoming efforts to prevent future crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Other participating states will include Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina.
