TENNESSEE HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE REMINDS MOTORISTS TO “LOOK TWICE” FOR MOTORCYCLES
Metro Nashville Police will Lead Motorcycle Safety Ride Immediately after Press Event
NASHVILLE – On Tuesday, May 2, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) will join the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), AAA – The Auto Club Group, and Alliance Highway Safety for a press event to remind motorists to “Look Twice” for motorcycles. According to Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network (TITAN), there were 29 motorcycle fatalities statewide last year-to-date. Thus far in 2023, there have been 44 motorcycle fatalities statewide. During the event, speakers will offer traffic safety tips and announce upcoming plans to reduce motorcycle crashes, injuries, and fatalities in the Nashville area. Immediately following the event, MNPD will lead a motorcycle safety ride. Media partners are invited to follow along while adhering to traffic safety laws and maintaining a safe distance.
