Murfreesboro, Tenn. – Kendell Poole, Director of the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office, will join members of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and La Vergne Police Department along with neighboring law enforcement agencies in Middle Tennessee to announce the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. The event will take place Thursday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce.
Each year on average, more than 10,000 people die on the nation’s roads due to drunk driving. In 2013, Tennessee experienced 6,699 alcohol-related traffic crashes. In order to stop this deadly epidemic, law enforcement in every state and most U.S. towns and cities will be cracking down on drunk driving from August 15th through Labor Day.
