Center for Transportation Research
The Center for Transportation Research (CTR) has been a nationally and internationally recognized research entity at the University of Tennessee for over 30 years. We have been the research venue for some of the brightest and most innovative faculty, researchers, and graduate students in the nation's transportation arena. Many of these individuals are now university department heads, deans, administrators, or fill key government or industry positions.

   
  Institute for Transportation Research and Education
Established in 1978, The Institute for Transportation Research and Education (ITRE) is recognized by state and local government agencies as a leading resource in transportation research and technical assistance. As a unit of North Carolina State University, ITRE provides research assistance and project administration for the 16-campus UNC system and Duke University, as well as for state government agency.
   
  Northwestern University Transportation Library
  One of the largest transportation libraries in the world, the Transportation Library at Northwestern has information on transportation (air, rail, highway, water, pipeline), law enforcement and police management, and environmental impact assessment.
 
  Transportation Research Board (TRB)
  The Transportation Research Board is a unit of the National Research Council, which serves the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. The Board's purposes are to stimulate research concerning the nature and performance of transportation systems, to disseminate the information produced by the research, and to encourage the application of appropriate research findings. The Board devotes attention to all factors pertinent to the understanding, design, and function of systems for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

  The University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center
  The University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center is dedicated to improving transportation safety, with a major emphasis on highway safety. The Center's fundamental mission is to conduct basic and applied research that increases knowledge and contributes to reducing death, injury, and the related societal costs. HSRC works to translate developed knowledge into practical interventions which can be applied at local, state, national and international levels.
